Oyo: Justify Tax Payers Money Used in Paying Your Salaries, COS Urges Workers

Civil servants in the Oyo State employ have been urged to redouble their efforts for effective productivity and to justify the tax payers money used in paying their salaries, just as they resumed to work from the new year celebration.
The Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Dr Gbade Ojo gave the urge on Tuesday, while speaking with newsmen in his office on the expectations of government from the civil servants.
According to him, civil servants in the state were expected to show a high level of productivity, adding that governance was about service to the people.
He said they should resolve to render higher service to the government and members of the public, noting that the civil servants must justify the tax payers money being drawn every month to pay their salaries.
The COS further urged the state’s workers to work for the money they earn in the new year by treating every callers in the offices and places as kings so as to make government’s programmes successful, sressing for more commitment by state’s civil srvants to work worh greater integrity.

In a related development, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Fasona said 2017 was unique in the history of Nigeria, but thanked God for the gift of life.
She, however, appealed to the government to prioritise the welfare of civil servants in its 2018 programmes.
Dr. (Mrs.) Fasona equally urged the civil servants do their work diligently as expected of them in the new year, to remain loyal to the organisation and the goals and objectives of their respective ministries.
She admonished the workers to contribute their quota to the development of the civil service and the state.

However, the workers went spiritual to begin the first day at work on a good note by offering songs and prayers to God for happy resumption to work.
The workers who dispersed in high spirit displayed good disposition to carry out their official duties as expected of them.
They sought divine guidance and wisdom to spend the new year gracefully.
