Ogunwuyi sympathises with victims of Akande market fire, assures of support

Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi has extended his sympathy to the victims of the fire outbreak in the popular Akande Market in Ogbomoso, where at least 40 shops and warehouses were burnt.

A statement by the lawmaker’s spokesman, Peter Ayoade said the lawmaker was deeply saddened by the destruction of very valuable goods and property in the inferno.

“The lawmaker shares in the pain and anguish of all hardworking citizens of his constituency who lost their wares and belongings in the unfortunate fire incident.

“He assures those who suffered losses from the fire incident that the Federal Government will do all within its powers to support the efforts of the Oyo state government to ameliorate their plight,” said the statement.

Ogunwuyi promised that he will dialogue with stakeholders in the market toward finding a lasting solution.

Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi also called on market men and women to be extraordinarily careful in handling fire- prone materials to forestall re-occurrence.

He assured victims of his commitment to ameliorating their sufferings.
