Shooting Stars were relegated from the Nigeria Premier League last season.

Relegated Shooting Stars will return to training on Monday ahead of the new Nigeria National League season.

Franklin Howard, Head Coach of the Ibadan team, said they will continue with their intensive training next week as part of their readiness for the NNL season.

“All the players are expected to be back to training next week because we need to continue with our intensive training so as to make wave in the NNL season,” he said.

The Coach further stated the team’s readiness for the upcoming league.

“We are much ready for the commencement of the league and there is an assurance that we will engage in some build-up matches immediately after we resume,” he said.

The State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, sacked the board of shooting Stars FC on Saturday morning ahead of the new Nigeria National League season. The board, led Kunle Kelani, had been accused of misuse of funds.

The Governor had earlier sacked the entire board of the newly promoted Crown FC of Ogbomosho.

Both Crown and Shooting Stars are owned by the Oyo State Government.
