Bet9ja NNL Week 2: Crown FC secure away point

Crown FC secured a valuable three (3)points on the road against Delta Stars FC in a very entertaining 90 minutes affairs at the Ughelli Township Stadium, in Delta State.

The Oladunni Oyekale led technical crew made three(3) changes to the squad that won a lone goal at home against Dynamite Force FC of Benin last week .The players are GK Kawawa Chinedu, Habeeb Olaitan and Adeyemi Adeyeye who replaced GK Kola Oladapo, Bode Daniel and Olanrewaju Oladimeji.

The game started interestingly as both sides sized each other up in the early exchanges.The Ajilete Warriors pinned the Deltans side back with early possession.The starting 20 minutes saw Crown FC control with about 65% to 35% through the help of Muazu Taiwo and Tobi Adeyi in the midfield.

The homers took charge from the 25th minute into the game and made the first attempt on goal by Sunny Abacha after dribbling pass Taiwo Muazu and Akinola Abiodun.The attempt went over the crossbar.

Akinimi Kingsley missed from a promising position in the 33rd minute as goalkeeper Adeniyi Adejare produced a world class save to deny rampaging Efe Ebe.

The host team continue to mount pressure on the visiting team but Ugo Anozie was too confidently calm and technically sound to prove that the lobs from Walter Ighonkpokire from reaching Kingsley Akinimi who was well positioned in the 40th minute .

Minutes later,Friday Joseph’s efforts was clinically stopped by Ugo Anozie .Akinimi Kingsley,Donge Golden and Friday Joseph kept pressuring the Ajilete Warriors’ defense through the flanks and caused series of problems but their efforts were fruitless until the 44th minutes when the referee signaled a penalty from an attack by Tayo Johnson.

Sunny Abacha was not too lucky to convert the penalty into a goal as the ball hit the crossbar.The home fans at this moment felt disappointed as the supporters club of Delta Stars FC stopped drumming and dancing for a few minutes.

Adeniyi Adejare fell on the ground and was attended to by the Crown FC medics.He continued the game limping as the knock on his left leg continued paining him.

Tare Oke located Sunny Abacha who set a piece for Kingsley Akinimi spotting jersey No 11 for Delta Stars FC who in turn converted the promising chance into a goal in the 46th minute (a minute into the three minutes added time).

The first half ended one nil in favour of the Deltans.

Promise Okechukwu, the first substitution for Delta Stars FC came in for Donge Golden in the 50th minute while Cletus Eba went in for Efe Ebel in the 65th minutes for the host,second substitution for the host team.

A perfect substitution by Crown FC in 54th minutes saw Daniel Barnabas come in for Yahaya Ahmed.The tempo of the game changed favorably for Crown FC as the new entrant increased pressure on the host team.

The ballistic shot from Muazu Taiwo in the 76th minute was carefully saved by Elobo Obonobo.Obinna Christopher got the only caution(yellow card) in the 77th minute.Muazu Taiwo was replaced by Babalola Ibrahim ,the ex-3sc experienced midfield maestro in the 78th minute.

The third and final substitution for Crown FC in the 85th minute saw Adeyemi Adeyeye come in for Chibuike Nwankwo,the terrorizing striker and first goal scorer for Crown FC in the league.

Perfect passes from Anozie Ugo to Tobi Adeyi who located Tayo Johnson who in turn lobbed the ball for Barnabas Daniel.The unexpected shot by Daniel Barnabas via a drop resulted into an equalizer for Crown FC in the 86th minute.

Adeyemi Adeyeye volleyed the ball into the net behind Eloho Obonobo from a cross by Obioma Moses which will flinked by Daniel Barnabas.The late 91st undeniable goal gave Crown FC the maximum three(3) points on the road.

It’s the first on-the-road win and second victory for the Ajilete Warriors in the league after defeating Dynamite Force FC of Benin at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso.

The match day three(3) of the Bet9jaNNL will see Crown FC host Ikorodu United from Lagos on Sunday 13th May,2018 at the home ground of the Ajilete Warriors.
